`nevia variables [--value <TEXT>] [--file <PATH>] [NAME] [SUBCOMMAND]`

* **Aliases:** `variable`, `vars`

Variables hold plain-text values that a computer's env references by name. Every workspace viewer can read them, so keep sensitive values in `nevia secrets`. Run `nevia variables NAME --value TEXT` to set one.

### Arguments

* `[NAME]` - Variable name (lists all if omitted)

### Options

* `--value <TEXT>` - Value to set, as text
* `--file <PATH>` - File to read the value from (- for stdin)
* `-h, --help` - Print help

### Subcommands

* [`nevia variables .env <-f --file <PATH>>`](https://nevia.cloud/docs/reference/cli/variables/dotenv.md)
* [`nevia variables ls`](https://nevia.cloud/docs/reference/cli/variables/ls.md)
* [`nevia variables unset <NAME>…`](https://nevia.cloud/docs/reference/cli/variables/unset.md)
