# Nevia by Aiven pricing

Nevia by Aiven is the cloud for the agentic era. It gives every agent its own machine and a database, instantly ready and asleep when idle. The docs are at https://nevia.cloud/docs and the agent-readable index at https://nevia.cloud/llms.txt.

## The model in short

- Two plans, Free and Pro. Each includes a fixed amount of usage every month. Nothing else is gated: no limit on the number of computers or databases, no enterprise tier, no volume pricing.
- Usage is metered. A computer or a database is charged per second for its vCPUs and its RAM while it runs (shown per hour) and per GB-month for its storage. Networking is not charged.
- Monthly cost = plan price + max(0, usage − included usage), where usage = Σ over computers and databases of (vCPU-hours × compute rate + GB-hours of RAM × RAM rate + GB stored × storage rate).
- All prices are in USD.

## Plans

### Free: $0

- $5 of usage a month
- Usage rates past that

### Pro: $99 / month

- $250 of usage a month
- Usage rates past that

## Usage rates

Both products are metered on the same three units.

### Computers

- Compute: $0.06 /vCPU-hour
- RAM: $0.01 /GB-hour
- Storage: $0.20 /GB-month
- Object storage: $0.02 /GB-month

### Databases

- Compute: $0.09 /vCPU-hour
- RAM: $0.015 /GB-hour
- Storage: $0.20 /GB-month
- Object storage: $0.02 /GB-month

Usage past a plan's included amount is charged at these rates, with no minimum.

## Machine sizes

A computer or a database runs at one of three sizes: small (1 vCPU, 1 GiB RAM), medium (2 vCPU, 2 GiB RAM), large (4 vCPU, 4 GiB RAM). During the beta the platform sets the size, and small is the default.

At the small size, awake all month (730 hours):

- A small computer: 730 vCPU-hours × $0.06 + 730 GB-hours × $0.01 = $51.10 a month, plus its disk at the storage rate.
- A small database: 730 vCPU-hours × $0.09 + 730 GB-hours × $0.015 = $76.65 a month, plus its disk at the storage rate.

Asleep, either one costs only its storage.

## Examples

The presets on the pricing page, with the usage each one meters in a month and the plan it costs least on.

| Example | What runs | Metered | Usage | Cheapest plan, month total |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| A weekend project | One computer of 1 vCPU and 1 GB of RAM, awake for about 10 hours over the weekend, asleep the rest of the month. | computers 10 vCPU·h, 10 GB·h, 5 GB | $1.70 | Free, $0.00 |
| A small team's computers | 6 developers with a 2 vCPU, 2 GB computer each, awake about 6 hours a workday and asleep in between. | computers 1,584 vCPU·h, 1,584 GB·h, 30 GB | $116.88 | Pro, $99.00 |
| Nightly jobs with a database | 5 computers of 4 vCPU and 4 GB that wake for 2 hours a night to run the pipeline, and one 2 vCPU, 2 GB database that stays on for the results. | computers 1,200 vCPU·h, 1,200 GB·h, 25 GB; databases 1,460 vCPU·h, 1,460 GB·h, 10 GB | $244.30 | Pro, $99.00 |
| 200 developers on their own computers | 200 developers with a 2 vCPU, 2 GB computer each, awake about 75 minutes a workday. | computers 11,000 vCPU·h, 11,000 GB·h, 1,000 GB | $970.00 | Pro, $819.00 |
| An agent platform with 10,000 weekly users | 10,000 sessions a week, each on a fresh 2 vCPU, 2 GB computer for about 25 minutes, then thrown away. | computers 36,100 vCPU·h, 36,100 GB·h, 120 GB | $2,551.00 | Pro, $2,400.00 |

## Estimating your own workload

1. For each computer and database, multiply its vCPUs and its GB of RAM by the hours it runs in the month, and price them at that product's compute and RAM rates. Running time is metered per second, so 25 minutes is 0.42 hours.
2. Add each one's disk in GB at the storage rate. Storage is charged for the whole month whether the machine runs or sleeps, so a sleeping machine costs only its storage.
3. The sum is the month's usage. On each plan the month costs the plan price plus the usage past what the plan includes: Free $0.00 + max(0, usage − $5.00), Pro $99.00 + max(0, usage − $250.00). Take the lower.

Worked example, the "Nightly jobs with a database" preset:

- 5 computers of 4 vCPU and 4 GB, 2 hours a night for 30 nights, 5 GB disk each: 1,200 vCPU-hours × $0.06 + 1,200 GB-hours × $0.01 + 25 GB × $0.20 = $89.00
- One database of 2 vCPU and 2 GB, running all month (730 hours), 10 GB disk: 1,460 vCPU-hours × $0.09 + 1,460 GB-hours × $0.015 + 10 GB × $0.20 = $155.30
- Usage $244.30. Free $0.00 + $239.30 = $239.30; Pro $99.00 + $0.00 = $99.00. Pro is cheaper.
